$.40 per piece of chewing gum would make more sense. The dentists would love to see that!

I’d like to add one more thing…

I don’t know one person “addicted” to cigars. They are not the chemical-laden, nicotine delivery system that cigarettes are, yet they continue to lump them together. Its disgusting.

Our new regime has taken it upon itself to descend into taxing madness. When does it stop? There will come a point when people won’t stand for it any longer. Anyone remember the Boston Tea Party?

Taxes are the reason the Democrat party gets itself voted out of office all the time. They get power, get greedy, get stupid and get thrown out.

Down with taxes!

My sincerest wishes that the cigar manufacuters, their employees and all involved in the whole process, from growing to selling, can weather this storm.

The real agenda is to add universal health care for children to the standard expectation. By using the smoker as the scapegoat, there’s no serious discussion about how much we are now committed to.

It bypassed all serious debate about health care.

And as for vested interests funding biases research, what about the American Cancer Society. Would you ever expect them to conclude that something does not come frome smoking? They would lose their funding.

I am a cigar smoker, and I am in now way a part of the “higher socio-economic class” that this putz speaks of.

And I think the most significant thought: “Are you going to raise the tax on candy, soft drinks, ice cream, chips, steak and burgers, too? Between heart problems and diabetes, those industries play a titanic role on health issues is this country, as compared to the cigar industry.” puts all this in perspective. If this is for the kids, then why not tax the hell out of products that these kids are abusing?
