Cigar reviews are what many of you have been asking me for since Planet Z was formed. But as you know, reviews are highly subjective and the mood and condition you smoke them under does affect the way you feel about a smoke. I’ve decided to bring in some guest reviewers, people I know and trust will give the readers an honest feel for a cigar and what it delivers. I’ve broken the ratings into several categories that I have always felt were important when judging a smoke – and then finally giving them a ZERO through FIVE Z rating.
Today, our guest rater is my good buddy Niko, from In the Humidor.com. Let’s get smokin…

ABOUT OUR REVIEWER: Nick Cirksena is publisher/owner of InTheHumidor.com. He has been smoking cigars since the last cigar boom of the 90’s. Smoking everything under the sun has given him a wide range of tastes and experiences. Nick has been running In The Humidor for just about 2 years now and enjoy the hell out of it.
Nick resides in Texas and says that it’s great cigar smoking weather and wouldn’t trade it for anything. He’s happily married to his high school sweetheart and has 3 girls. He enjoys hanging out with the family, cigars, and computers and is looking forward to chatting and getting to know everyone here on Planet Z!

Thanks Bigdog! I have more coming, just trying to find some time to get them done.

I like how you include the setting, as I too feel that when you smoke is as important as what you smoke.

I agree brian b, the setting and how you feel at the time really determines what one gets out of a cigar.

Hey Zman, include some tasters who LIKE mild to medium cigars. Not everyone prefers a strong cigar to a subtle one. Ashtons and Dunhill Aged Dominicans have a devoted following, especially because they are subtle but truly delicious.
JMHO.

Simply put Pepin is a Master. Not only his own cigars but what he makes for Pete, Eric, Eddie and the Levins are all examples of his craftsmanship.
